If you are a dandy, I can imagine wearing a pocket watch in the waistcoat of a three-piece suit. The fob connects to a buttonhole on the waistcoat, and the watch goes in one of the waistcoat’s pockets. Though now that I write that out, that will look anachronistic; startling to to some observers.

I wore a pocket watch from 1928 at my wedding last weekend, and did not feel like a dandy whatsoever. It was my bride’s grandfather’s watch. I wore a 3 piece suit from JCrew with Ted Baker shoes. Pictures forthcoming.
